Minimum free space share setting keeps changing every day

Featured Replies

I recently noticed that I was getting shfs cache disk full errors.  I figured out that my media share (which uses cache) was set to 1.3tb of minimum free space.  I had certainly not done that.

So I changed the setting back to 200 gb and the next day it changed back.  It just happened today again for the 3rd in a row.  wtf is happening?

I haven’t changed anything on my server in many weeks.  I’m totally lost on what to do and it’s causing all my downloads to fail when it changes.

Running Unraid 6.12.10, logs attached.

Have you changed the ‘minimum Free Space for the ‘cache’ pool?    That is separate to the setting on individual shares.   You get to the dialog to set it by clicking on the pool name on the Main tab.

I have once noticed similar behaviour and tracked it down to the automatic setting "freespace must at least the size of the largest file on the disk".

It just overwrites the settings you have defined for the disk/pool.

So look out for a backup file or something gigantic.

Maybe some plugin like autotweak is doing this stuff???

No idea, I have thrown out all these auto-thingies and it did not happen anymore for now.

This was the problem, cache was set to 1.3tb, I dont understand why this changed though?  I havent touched my server in like a month, its just been running without being touched.  I didnt update anything.  I am happy its fixed, I am just confused why it changed in the first place.

So my media share started changing its minimum free space again to 1.3TB.  Cache is still set to 200 gb.  It seems to be changing every 12 hours or so.

If you don't want that remove this plugin:

dynamix.share.floor.plg - 2023.04.30a  (Up to date)
