Disable WPS (Wifi Protected Setup) on your router -- if you can!

Thanks, easy to do on Netgear WNDR4000

Would not broadcasting your SSID help to prevent an attack using Reaver or are there similar tools available to exploit "hidden" networks?

Watch out, it might say it's disabled, but it might not be! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0Ags-JmeLMFP2dFp2dkhJZGIxTTFkdFpEUDNSSHZEN3c

Thanks,

I disabled the router PIN

But your second link states for the WNDR3700v3 (didn't list WNDR4000) "PIN can be disabled, but WPS cannot be switched off completely"

Oh well

Ha! No. I believe you use the same process whether the router is using WEP or WPA:

Not broadcasting the SSID will only stop amateurs. MAC address filtering will only stop amateurs as well.

People out there still using WEP routers...  and that hack so very widely know now.  I guess this consigns another batch of routers to the dustbin :)
