September 7, 20241 yr Hello Unraid Team, I am writing to request the inclusion of the UHID module in the Unraid kernel. Currently, I am using Unraid 6.8.12 and have encountered an issue where the /dev/uhid device node is missing, which is necessary for certain functionalities I need. After discussing this on the forum, I received feedback indicating that the UHID module is likely not included in the current builds, and the kernel configuration does not have CONFIG_UHID set. This limitation is impacting my ability to fully utilize my setup as intended, and I believe other users might face similar limitations. Reason for Request: • The UHID module is essential for accessing custom HID devices or integrating specific hardware, which is critical for my use case. • Including this module would enhance Unraid’s compatibility with a broader range of hardware and scenarios, improving its flexibility and utility for many users. • Specifically, I am running certain Docker containers that require /dev/uhid, such as the one detailed in the Wolf game management tool https://games-on-whales.github.io/wolf/stable/user/quickstart.html Your consideration of this feature request would be greatly appreciated, and I am happy to provide further details or testing if needed. Thank you!
September 7, 20241 yr Can you clarify what version of Unraid you are using ? If memory serves, the 6.8 branch stopped at 6.8.3. Maybe 6.12.8 ?
