NAS not using my cache pool SSD

Featured Replies

I have setup and format a sdd to use as cache. But somehow all the files are still written directly on the array.

Since I have 7.0.1 every manual that I can find is obsolete because the interface for using cache in the shares in totally different.

Can someone explain the correct steps I have to make?

Set the share(s) to primary=cache and secondary=array

But when does the ssd start putting the files to hdd? This option sounds like the files are going to stay on the hdd forever.

They go to the SSD when initially written, assuming there's space, then are moved to the array by the mover, according to the set schedule (Settings - Scheduler)

Are you sure you were looking at the the online documentation accessible via the ‘Manual’ link at the bottom of the GUI or the DOCS link at the top of each forum page. The Unraid OS->Manual section in particular covers most features of the current Unraid release.
