March 22, 20251 yr Hello- I just installed an LSI 9211-8i 6G SAS HBA FW:P20 IT Mode controller card and am having issues. When I add a card in unRaid, I first do a pre-clear and format in xfs. I then add it to the array where for some reason, it changes the format to "auto" and states that it can't be added. I managed to get one of my drives to be added in "xfs" but it shows as "disabled". Is there some special magic I am missing? Oh, I am using Version: 6.12.6 of unRaid Thanks

March 23, 20251 yr If you format a precleared disk, it is no longer clear. So when you add it to the array, Unraid has to clear it so parity remains valid. You must let Unraid format the disk AFTER you add it to the array.
March 23, 20251 yr Author OK, so the one that IS formatted in xfs, but still shows "disabled", how can I enable it?
March 23, 20251 yr Author I just went through the steps again, this time letting unRaid format, and it once again formatted it as "auto" and it cannot be used.
March 23, 20251 yr Have you tried to change the FS from Auto to XFS ? If that does not work, please attach your diagnostics.
March 23, 20251 yr Author I don't seem to be able to change the format once it is in the array. Here are the diagnosticstower-diagnostics-20250323-1445.zip
March 24, 20251 yr Author It's an older replaced disk I was hoping to reuse. No dice I guess. The SMART scan fails.
