Unraid 7.0.1 Update - 2GB USB not sufficient anymore?!

Featured Replies

Hello,

today I wanted to upgrade, but is not possible due to space issues.

I use 2gb since years (as back then was some lock to the HW) and currently i have 1.80 GB used.

Is there something I can freeup space or USB needs to be replaced for bigger/faster drive?

Thanks

It should be if the flash drive just has the Unraid install, it won't be if there's other stuff there.

If I recall right I do not use it for anything else then unraid OS, is there some "cleanup" tool or such?

As no clue what can be removed

Make a backup of the flash drive.     MAIN   >>>>    Flash    >>>>    Flash Device Settings    and click on the  'FLASH BACKUP'  button.

Delete the    previous      directory and try again.

NOTE that doing so will prevent you from going back to the previous version of Unraid from the one you are currently using.  IF you would ever need to do this, you have the backup.

You will probably have to replace the 2GB drive one of these days as the feature-creep of Unraid is requiring a bigger footprint for flash drive space and RAM.

PS----  I have a minimal Unraid install, I am using about 1.44GB of space on the Flash Drive.

thanks for tip, I've removed "previous" and it went fine.

Let's see what next update brings, but I would need to find some 8GB USB drive to be ready for size upgrade.

Just need to check about the "license key" details, how to attach it to new drive.

Only using up 1.08GB here. I've got like 20+ plugins installed. I however deleted my "previous" data since I have backups of each version of my installs.

yeah, but you have 8GB. Need to do the same to be in "set and forget" mode for some years again :P
