sloandsteady
Hello all! I finally have all the parts I need (so I think) to build an unRaid server. I believe I have everything connected correctly. The first problem I have encountered is when I hit the power button, the fans come on for a split second and then turn off. From there, the fans turn on every ten seconds or so for a split second and this repeats itself in an infinite loop. Any and all advice appreciated. This is my first time building a computer. Thanks! sloandsteady
I think I may have a bad psu I switched the Seasonic X750 (brand new) with a Corsair TX650 v2 (brand new) and the system booted up, allowing me to go into the BIOS. Before I RMA the Seasonic are there any other tests I can run? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
S80_UK
I think you've tripped over this problem.... http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=14872.msg141722#msg141722 http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=19870.0 According to your motherboard user guide, the PSU must be SSI compliant. I don't think the Seasonic supply is, but I cannot be 100% certain. Quote Link to comment
sloandsteady
I'll have to look into those threads. I was certain others have used the X9SCM with the Seasonic X750 with success, but perhaps I am mistaken. Quote Link to comment
BobPhoenix
I think you are fine. Your power supply is an EPS12V supply which is what my PC Power & Cooling supply is and my X9SCM-F boots fine. At least if this is the one you are talking about - anyway. If you haven't already I would remove all installed parts except MB, CPU, Memory and Power Supply - does it boot then? If not do you get any beeps when it tries to boot? Quote Link to comment

Any Ideas on how to test the PSU? I'm assuming I have used the correct cables supplied with the PSU. It would be a shame to have to try and RMA it as it's been more than 30 days since I purchased it from Newegg (downside on waiting for sales to acquire everything). Quote Link to comment
BobPhoenix
You could try a power supply tester. Maybe one on this search don't have one myself yet but planing on getting one eventually. Maybe this one since it says EPS12V in the title. Quote Link to comment

Johnm
That seasonic should be SSi. not to mention, seasonic makes the corsair one also. I am running 2 of those. It does sound like a PSU issue though. Quote Link to comment

dikkiedirk
I run that board on a Seasonic X760 just fine. Cant you RMA it and get a free replacement? Were all cables attached properly. Also the 8-pin EPS12V connector? Certainly looks like a power-issue. Can't you try it on another MB/PC? Quote Link to comment

Just need to start the RMA process. Quote Link to comment
