June 9, 20251 yr Hi!After upgrading my Unraid-Server with the new ASUS Prime Z890M Plus WiFi I ran into a few problems:After I checked the BIOS and made the first changes (No Fastboot, Disable Secure Boot, adjusting the Fans etc.) I started the server the first time. I don't know why but after a deinstallation and new installation of the dynamix plugins I was able to see all temperatures and Auto Fan Control showed me all fans. Then I started to make "fine tuning" in the BIOS and changed some options (like activating bifurcation, so that I don't forget this if I would use a 3-port NVME riser card and things like that and changed a few settings regarding the fans, but only how fast they run at a specific temperature. The next start of Unraid all temperatures are missing, the available driver is coretemp (damn, I know that there was another driver before I made the reboot, but I can't remember the name), I can't reach all the fans and the CPU states in powertop also look weird...Everybody who has this kind of Motherboard: help is very appreciated, I am sure all the fans where there and maybe someone can tell me a few BIOS settings I should check (also regarding the power saving). And whooooweeeee there are a lot of options in this f****ng nice and cool motherboard.Sven
June 15, 20251 yr Hello,Did you get these issues fixed? I am getting a MSI PRO Z890-P WIFI with Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, Foolishly I didn't do any research its compatibility with Unraid, as had not planned on getting this unit. I have a i7-4790K system right now, which just isn't handling the software well. I was going to get the 14th Gen i7, but found that the 15 Gens were on sale right now, I ended up actually saving like 200.00 USD by getting this and not the the 14th Gen. On the MB, from the research I have done, it is very close to your MB, the one I have actually is the same as the ASUS Pro Z890-P Wifi, Except mine has the 5Gbs NIC. That is actually why I didn't go with the ASUS.... (To be honest, ASUS is my Normal go to for MB, all my other systems have them). I have seen from anther post that I have to put the RealTek 8125 into the Plugins folder on my Flashdrive, are there any other things that have to go in there? What other BIOS setting need to be changed? Was this a new build, or did you already have a running Unraid system and this was an upgrade?Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated, Since this is an upgrade, I am really worried about something killing my media....Thank you for your time,KNE
June 15, 20251 yr Author Hi KNEYou will find my thoughts and problems with Arrow Lake on another thread in this forum: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/176866-intel-15th-gen-arrow-lake-thoughts/page/5/#findComment-1560480Yes, I think there is a dedicated driver for the Realtek 8126, with my ASUS board my solution was to install the needed driver (Realtek 8125 in my case) from the apps as the last part of my rebuild. The driver needs a restart and when I exahnged the board with the next restart the NIC worked without any problems.Actually I found with sensors-detect that there is an unknown chip which could be a sensor and since on my board it should be a nuvoton chip and after a lot of research in different forums I tried it with "modprobe nct6775 0xd806" and now the sensors are working and I get the MB Temperature and the Fan Speed of the CPU.Next problem is that the case fans are intentionally turned off when not needed and even the command sensors doesn't show them, but they are available in Fan Auto Control and apparently working but they are not shown on the dashboard. Hopefully I will find a solution for that. The problem with powertop still needs to be fixed, I tried different BIOS-options (it is a really hard way to do trial and error since Unraid needs his time for booting and the shut down process) but I only see C1 to C3 ACPI. Man, I think I remember on the first run of Unraid with this new board I was able to see the page with all the different C states. As this was the expected thing to see I did not look attentive and so I am not completely sure I think I saw the C States were going up to C8. If I find a solution for this I will make a new post.@TxCrudeHauler : If you use powertop and get all the C states shown it would be very kind to tell me your power management setting in bios, there should be not to much difference between MSI and ASUS.Actually my board with onboard iGPU, three NVMEs and three HDDs needs about 55 W in idle, I hope that I can lower this but without seeing what the CPU states are makes this a little difficult.Sven
June 18, 20251 yr I had issues when i first setup mine, here is a link to the Realtek R8125 driver if it is of any use for anyone who cant get it from the plugin store (due to no network connectivity)
June 18, 20251 yr Hey there, Upgrade went great, had a bit of a problem with the NIC, and installing the wrong driver now that I look at things. All in all, it was easy and fast, didn't lose anything. But you asked about C-states, I cant see any of it right now. re-reading your post, you mentioned nct6775, which when my system is booting up, I see an error message saying that cant load nct6775 because it does not exist. But when I originally built system and what i replaced was an ASUS board, so that chip might have been there. I was thinking of trying a fresh install on a new USB thumb drive, configure all the hardware and then move over all the stuff from my old drive and see if that would work. I guess I could just go through the Drive and clean up all the extra stuff that isn't needed. Really wish i could see fans running as I am getting temp on drives, and all of them are running hot.. and I can't tell if fans are running as they sit below the HD rack, Crappy designed case. Need to look for a better one, besides i am to the max with that case, no more available HD slots. Let me know if you get the C-states thing figured out.

My MSI board has the R1826, not the R1825... I have no clue why your driver files worked but they did...Have a bit of tweeking to do, but system is running great!
