[Plugin] storcli64

Sounds interesting! I run an LSI SAS2008, which as far as I know, should be something supported by this.

I've been running Unraid without any issues with my LSI SAS2008 for a few years. What are some features/functions of storcli64 that I and other Unraid users may benefit from that we're otherwise not getting in the Unraid OOBE?

And are there any gotchas? E.g., having the array stopped before doing anything using it? If so, this should definitely be a warning somewhere.

Is some able to get temperature from 9207-8i?

Just found the plugin :)

When tryed to add file manually seems card not found by this utility.

Seems with plugin also :

Number of Controllers = 0

only found controller 9207 by other app `sas2ircu`

but still temperature is not avalible for 9207 (SAS2308) :(

it seems this utility not working for cards that was flashed to IT Mode ?!?

It all depends on the hardware.

There are two versions of storcli in the plugin:

storcli-3404 and storcli-3205

storcli runs build 3404. You could try storcli-3205 and see if that does any better.

Tryed again all 4 commands (storcli,storcli64,storcli2,storcli-3205). they all show No controllers. :(

Have x2 same cards 9207-8i - Serial Attached SCSI controller: Broadcom / LSI SAS2308 PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS-2 (rev 05)

StorCLI64 works a treat on my 9500-8i. Just updated my BIOS and PSOC moments ago. Saves me the hassle of having a bootable EFI USB kicking around. Thanks OP!

Same here, also on a 9500-8i. Thanks for the plugin!

I have the same card, what benefits are there having this plugin? What does it enable you to do? I don’t quite understand.

If you're wondering if you need it, you don't. You would know if it would help you :)

(It's for managing the card itself / updating firmware / etc... if yours is working fine, it doesn't do anything.)

It is visible for me, but the minimum version is 7.0.0.

If you are using an older Unraid, you might not see it.

Thanks that solved it :)

The plugin worked perfectly to update my firmware and bios on hba 9500 8i
BIOS Version = 09.57.00.00_29.00.00.00 to 09.71.00.00_36.00.00.00
FW Version = 29.00.00.00 to 36.00.00.00

Basic how to for anyone curious:

Turn off the array.

Check what card you have, Open terminal and type storcli show
in my case i had "0 HBA 9500-8i" so to confirm i run storcli /c0 show
this should show you information about your card such as firmware and bios version but also all the connected hdd's

Download the latest firmware. In my case i got "9500_8i_Pkg_P36_MIXED_FW_BIOS_UEFI" from https://www.broadcom.com/products/storage/host-bus-adapters/sas-nvme-9500-8i

Extract and upload the two files HBA_9500-8i_mixed_Profile.bin and IT_HBA_X64_BIOS_PKG_E6.rom to somewhere on the usb
Open the terminal, cd to the files location and run
storcli /c0 download file=HBA_9500-8i_mixed_Profile.bin

Once the flash is complete you should get a message like this
"Status = Success

Description = CRITICAL! Flash successful. Please power cycle the system for the changes to take effect"

Turn your unraid machine off then start it again.

Update bios
storcli /c0 download bios file=IT_HBA_X64_BIOS_PKG_E6.rom
Wait for it to confirm
"Status = Success

Description = Bios Flash Successful"

Turn your unraid machine off then start it again.

All done! unless you bricked the card :)
