September 6, 2025Sep 6 I'm new to Unraid and got a problem when I got the server going. In the dashboard I have an error on a SSD "Unassigned has 1 SMART error." But when I go to the SSD and check the Self-test the result is "Completed without error". I fined one yellow line in the Attributes but I'm unsure what it meansDoes anyone know, do I have to relplace the SSD with a new one or is it safe to use it?
September 7, 2025Sep 7 All storage devices have extra sectors that they will use to automatically reallocate a sector that no longer works correctly. If it keeps increasing, or gets above your comfort level then replace it. But the threshold isn't even close to being hit yet.

If reallocated sectors increase more and more, its time to exchange the drive. But for now it looks harmless, its normal that drives have a few bad sectors. There are spare ones that are automatically remapped and used instead.
