i did restart my old undraid pc but it did not restart at all now i want to rebuild it but cant find my key i still have my stick but.. i wanted to check out my key on the unraid.net account site but i said i do not have one i still have the order mail

from 2020 is it posible to get it working again?

Look in the root of the Unraid Boot Drive and the /config folder. The License file has an extension of .key.

Make sure when copying it back it is into the ‘config’ folder.

Before you do anything, try to copy the entire contents of the boot drive. If that fails copy the .key file. If that works try to copy that /config folder as it contains the setup information.

i did make a backup of the usb stick.

is it posible to put it on a ssd instead of the boot usb or do we still need the usb stick?

With the latest release of Unraid the boot files can be put on a SSD that is in a pool. That pool can also used for other purposes such as ‘caching’ of supporting docker containers or VMs. However for Licencing purposes you still need the USB unless your machine has a TPM and you tie the licence to that instead.
