June 18Jun 18 As it currently stands I have an array with my parity disk as a 12tb drive and data disks are two 6tb drives. I recently procured another 12tb drive, how can I change one of the 6tb drives to parity so I can add the new drive to the array and have 18tb of storage? Thanks
June 18Jun 18 Community Expert If I'm understanding what you are asking correctly, that's not possible; parity drives must be the same size or larger than any individual data drives.
June 18Jun 18 Community Expert Solution @hyphonetics There are 2 possibilities to increase available storage that you might want to consider:Add the new 12TB drive replacing a 6TB drive increasing the total available space by 6TB to give 18TB. Add the new 12TB drive as an additional data drive (i.e.disk3) increasing the total available space by 12TB to give 24TB.

June 21Jun 21 That won’t be the caseParity must be equal to or larger than ur biggest data disk , as you have added a 12tb data disk, parity disk must be 12tb or larger so you will be blocked from adding the 6tb as parity , you could however add it as a data disk
