November 4, 200817 yr I just want to say DAMN! You guys are awsome. Weebotech, Robj, bubbaq, bjp999, blkmgk, dabl, NAS, joeL, equilibrium, musicman, ALL of you. Oh and lets not forget Limetech. No other forum are people as kind, not to bossy or pushy, HELPFUL, as the people on the unraid forum. I am a member of a few forums. This one (obviously), Cinemar (it is awsome as well for all who care), pc guide for the random pc questions i have, slysoft, ect. Alot of them, people tend to knock you because you dont know something, which i dont understand, because isnt that the whole point of a forum? Anyway, i just think it is important that everyone know that you are the S#!T! Keep up the great work. ok thats all i got.
November 4, 200817 yr My name is in there! I'd have to agree with you though. I've found the community here to be far more informative and friendly than most.
November 4, 200817 yr You know... I started writeing a post such as this numerous times in the past. I'd get as far as almost pressing the "post" button but I'd always just close the window because I was being too corny. Truth is, I feel the same way. I'm truely impressed at how the HERO members here don't treat us NOOBS as JackA$$'s simply because we don't posess the same level of knowledge. I'm here to learn, and clearly there are patient folks here willing to teach. That is why I stick around.
November 4, 200817 yr I should add that Tom has given y'all a nod in private conversations too. Everyone is a valued member of this community. Even the noob's have good ideas and add to the feel of the community. I'm honored to be here with y'all as well. </corny mode>
November 4, 200817 yr I feel the same way. Several years ago, with fear and trembling, I decided to try unRAID. I was gently guided in the right direction and succeeded in building my system. Thanks to all of you!
November 4, 200817 yr The community, and specifically the members mentioned, were the reason I felt safe with unRAID. An amazing community of mutual support has built up around this product, and I believe that is a major reason for its success. Thanks for all the help in the past, and I am sure, in the future!
November 4, 200817 yr Yep, have to agree, this is a really great community. Everyone's really very helpful. I was initially planning on a Linux-based software RAID-5/6 server and MythTV for my storage and media server needs. I subscribed to a couple of mailing lists and the Ubuntu forum and I was appalled with the number of "There's a search function - use it!" and RTFM replies I saw. Funny thing is, some of the questions asked were quite valid. I tried searching for one of the questions, and true enough, there was already a thread in existence but no solution was given. On this forum, I've yet to see anyone act condescendingly. Everytime someone asks a question, they're given a straightforward answer or at the very least guided to where they might be able to find answers.
November 4, 200817 yr Folks really should use search and check the wiki (RTFW?), but fortunately the attitude here is fairly mellow. Bill
