Aha, thank you.

How do you update from UI? I am looking for a button or something in the plugin page but I don't see any update button.

I am using stock GUI do I need simple features of the new gui?

sorry mine shows local version is unknown and that button is not shown. I placed in the new gui and on the plugin page under server it has no plg file, under client it has install...... what am I doing wrong? I got your zip file and installed the plugin in the plugins folder in boot?

update to 1.1.15 but still no button trying will try stock gui.

1.1.15 is latest, using this you do not see the button.

But using older version you shall see it, if not we need to look into why it not working with you

//Peter

Well I am on the newest version you just posted but I still don't get the button. I have tried all gui options open to me do you have a command line I can use to do what the button does?

great so I have newest. sorry for annoying you I thought it showed 1.1.17 I must be tired. great plug in. one last question is it ok to place the curt files on a folder in the boot dir of the flash?

\boot\openvpn\.....?

one last thing in simple features it looks correctly minus the last line but if I shrink the vis to 60% all is good.

(I really like the SF notification and monthly PC options I know that unmenu can do this as well but I like how SF implements it. so if I can keep SF till the new gui has these options I will be great.)

Great plug in thank you again. :)

Hi, no worries ;-)

What do you going to put in this folder ?? \boot\openvpn\.....?

maybe you using the client plugin ?  ;D and posting in server threed ?  ;)

:o No in the server plugin you have 2 things the server certs and where they are created. both show the cashe drive but I don't share this drive and would rather have it in the flash.

thank you

OK  ;)  use flash, preferred  is to use some disk instead, but is OK with flash

thank you very much.  Is Dns required if the internet provider changes the ip? or is this just a added option?

thank you again Peter

If you get a new IP from your provider you need to update your client config file with the new IP address. or if you get a Dynamic DNS, just add that address to the settings, then your client get that address in the config file instead.

thank you I got that working now just one thing

on the update button.

I get this ?

Plugin / Build                                  Local Version Online Version

OpenVPN Server Plugin Version          Unknown        1.1.16

OpenVPN Software Build OpenVPN        2.3.2            2.3.2

So the update button never shows up.

I have 1.1.15 how do I fix this?

is there a log I can give you?

You can always post a syslog for troubleshooting.

//Peter

Well I placed it in boot\plugins I just read your post again and it sees I should have placed it in boot\config\plugins.

Sorry I did not look hard enough. One last question in this location will the plugin still auto install? Or do I have to place a line in the go script? I was under the impression all plugins were suppose to go in boot\plugins

Thank you for all your help.

  • Author

Hi

on post one #1 is stated /boot/config/plugins , so there you need to have the plugin  ;)

And autostart is an option in settings Install OpenVPN server during array mount: maybe I shall change that name to Start OpenVPN server during array mount:

I think you are OK when moving the plugin to right folder.

//Peter

Thank you sorry for all the questions.

You are really great. Peter
