outsider
I am curious as to why the recommended CPUhttp://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hardware_Compatibility#Processor is a 2.0Ghz? What within unraid requires such massive requirements? The reason I'm asking is because I've got a VIA EPIA 1Ghz mobo/CPU board that I'd like to use (since it's power efficient to begin with) with a small unraid server (4-5 drives) Anyone run on such a board before? bubbaQ
Via C5 will work... Via C3 will not, without a special kernel. AMD Geode will work too. I think the spec is because they want lots of SATA ports on the mobo, and that's about the lowest-end stock mobo you can get with a plethora of SATA ports. Link to comment
WeeboTech
I have unRAID running on a 1Ghz Celeron M + 1GB of RAM. At one point I had it running on a 1.7GHZ Geode in M-ITX form factor. http://www.norcotek.com/DS-520.php Link to comment
bubbaQ
How did you put a miniITX mobo in the Norco case? I've been looking for a cube-case like the Norco that would take a stock miniITX mobo. Link to comment
WeeboTech
How did you put a miniITX mobo in the Norco case? I've been looking for a cube-case like the Norco that would take a stock miniITX mobo. They are two separate machines. 1. The Norco. 2. The Retired M-ITX unRAID Server - http://www.cotrone.com/rob/archives/2008/05/chenbro_es34069.html When I got the norco, I changed the other server to be my administrative server FWIW, There is someone in the pimp your rig thread that built a M-ITX server in a SCSI style case. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2031.msg15958#msg15958 Link to comment
