December 7, 201312 yr Author Thank you. I know have my 3 drives running the check. I plan on adding all my drives, However I wanted to see how I liked unRAID first before I invested in the Pro license. Will there be any issues if once I get this setup with these three drives for now and start putting data on them to upgrade the license and continue adding my other drives? I was browsing in the FAQ's on Limetech and really didn't see an answer to this. I plan on testing for about a week with my Plex system to see how it runs and how I like it. If all goes well, I plan on adding everything then.
December 7, 201312 yr Your shares, content, and any plugins will all be there when you decide to purchase a license - you will see the Top of the webgui go from Basic to Pro or Plus and be able to add up to 23 data drives + parity drive, add a cache drive. Plex runs really good on unRaid IMO - my iPads, Smart TV, and WDTV Media boxes see content and play it well inside and outside my network.
December 7, 201312 yr Author OK Great! I'm actually thinking of leaving PMS on my main computer I currently have it on and use my unRAID is just networked attached storage and keep my data on it. But that all sounds easy enough. Really do appreciate all the help from everyone in helping me understand this.
December 9, 201312 yr Just in case you haven't come across this before. There is a step-by-step setup guide by Assassin for getting up and running with Unraid. I found it pretty good and easy to follow. http://assassinhtpcblog.com/server-unraid/ It doesn't go into pre-clearing as that's not part of Unraid, but it's helpful for the basic startup. Hope this helps mate.
