April 27, 201412 yr I just upgraded my PRO server from V4.7 to V5.0.5. So far everything has gone smoothly. My computer booted right into unraid without any errors. My hard drives and and shares were immediately listed as before, I just had to add the users back and sort out the permissions. When viewing on my win7 machine all of the shares show up in explorer, but when I click to access them, it gives me the following... I can see and access the files through the GUI explorer, but not through windows.
April 27, 201412 yr When you say you had to "sort out the permissions", do you mean you ran New Permissions like it says in the upgrade instructions? What user are you trying to use to access unRAID from Windows? The root user is no longer allowed to access shares.
April 27, 201412 yr Author Yes. I re-created the users/permissions I had before. I was logging in with my main user that has full read/write access through the windows 7 explorer. I am not using the root user.
April 28, 201412 yr On unRAID you created a regular 'user' and then gave him permission for the SHARES that he can access? (all of the above in the unRAID web gui interface) Then you logged into 'unRAID' using the unRAID 'user' discussed above?
April 28, 201412 yr I put New Permissions in caps on purpose. Did you run New Permissions from the webGUI like it says in the upgrade instructions?
April 28, 201412 yr Author yes. I have a main user that has full read/write and a guest user which only has read permissions. I logged in with my main admin account and it won't let me browse my shares. I was able to view and access my files through my android tablet using the same user account. Samba issue?
April 28, 201412 yr When you ran New Permissions from the webGUI, did you let it complete before you closed the browser window? It can take quite a while for New Permissions to complete.
April 28, 201412 yr It you might want to clear the Windows Credentials on your Windows system for the unRAID system. It sounds as if you have some cached credentials that the unRAID system does not like.
April 28, 201412 yr Shutdown the clients, server, and all network equipment. Then start the routers and switches, wait about ten minutes and restart the clients and server.
