bombz
Hello, I am drawing a blank with the pre-clear and the bigger drives again (sorry) With the 4TB and 3TB Western Digital RED drives, when pre-clearing do I still use -A or -a ? I.e. preclear_disk.sh -A /dev/sdX (x being the drive) || preclear_disk.sh -a /dev/sdX (x being the drive) Thank you :-) Quote Link to comment
dgaschk
Use neither -a or -A. Choose Settings-Disk Settings->Default partition format: MBR: 4K-aligned. Do not use -a or -A. Once the default partition format is set the override flag is not required. Quote Link to comment
Frayedknot
I have a couple of 3TB disks (a parity disk and a data disk) that have been precleared without -a/-A using version 1.13 of the script. In the guide it says "Older versions prior to 1.14 did not have the ability to properly handle larger disks. (larger than 2.2TB)". From what I can tell I think it was only an issue with using -a/-A flag. I haven't noticed an issue and I haven't used any data beyond 2.2TB yet. Am I ok or should I be concerned/do something about it? Quote Link to comment
