August 25, 201411 yr Hi, Long story short, my friend gave me his usb hdd, plugged it in but it wasn't recognised in snap. I decided to reformat the drive on my pc and plug it back in...when doing so my unraid box wouldnt start. Ok, something similar happened a few years back and decided to update and replace files on my usb stick (still running v5.0rc-16c). Bad idea. I've somehow made it much, much worse. I took my usb drive (backed up my originals) and replaced bzimage, bzroot and the syslinux directory. It takes a long time to boot (halting at this issue...see attached) It then says sh: -c: option requires an argument and lets me login...but I cant seem to connect to the webgui etc. Any ideas on where I'm going wrong? Not having my unraid box means I have to watch normal telly like a pleb...its painful. Cheers f2
August 25, 201411 yr Run ChkDsk on your ubs drive. (Or screen snapshot shows a possible problem with sda1 which, as I recall, is generally the unRAID stick.) You can also try booting in the safe mode (can't remember what the version was when Tom added that option to the boot menu) and see if the system will boot.
August 25, 201411 yr Yes, run checkdisk on your flash drive. Not only does the screenshot say sda1, but it also says FAT-fs, so it is definitely talking about the flash drive.
August 31, 201411 yr Author Sorry for the late reply, i can now access unmenu, but not the unraid menu, plugins, shares etc. I used unmenu to get a syslog (Attached). Had a look through the logfile and nothing jumped out at me, but im not entirely sure what i should be looking for...any ideas? syslog-2014-08-31_1.txt

I would suspect that you are having an issue with it not loading. Plus, you appear to be installing a whole pile of other plugins. You probably have a situation where one or more of these plugins are not compatible with the version of unRAID that you are running or some of the required files for these plugins are missing. The usual recommendation is to eliminate all plugins. Get unRAID to boot first and see that the server is up and running. Then find the latest versions and install them one at a time.
September 1, 201411 yr Interesting that your getting the data corrupt message. This was the same as I was getting on my flash drive. If chkdsk doesn't get rid of it take a look at this post: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=34266.0
