I seriously doubt you can get a SMART report for the drive, and that it looks good.  If replacing the power supply with a better stronger one does not help, then I would not waste another minute on this drive.

I connected this drive to a separate machine, and booted with raw unraid, but the drive was not recognized there either.  Any ideas on what more I can do to try to recover data from it?  I can write off the drive as a loss, but the data would be nice to recover.

Is the drive being seen at the BIOS level?  If that is not happening then there is not much chance of getting anything off it.

If you connect power with it in your hand can you feel it spin up.  I have had success swapping the circuit board from the same model.

Yeah, BIOS sees it, but fails to initialize it (or something, I can't remember the exact message).  I'll take a couple photos of the process when i can try again.

I'm pre-clearing another drive in that machine right now, to use as a new cache drive, and that might not be done until tonight.

If the BIOS is indicating an error with the drive then I would not expect the drive to be recoverable (unless you are prepared to pay professionals with specialist hardware).
