J.R.
So I've got unRAID running off my thumb drive and was able to log in via my W8 PC to the GUI. I notice under Main/Health there's a "Run disk self test" option (with "SMART extended self-test"). Is that the same as a pre-clear or should I still be following these instructions?: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2817.0 Link to comment
hackztor
No that option is for an extended smart test which is what scans the hard drives and tries to figure out if its bad or good and gives you some numbers. Preclear is done with the script. Link to comment

J.R.
Thanks again, it running a preclear on one of my existing drives...sure isn't a fast process! Link to comment
Fireball3
If you want to speed up things a bit BJP's faster preclear Link to comment
J.R.
Thanks! Sounds like it does the exact same thing at roughly 1.5X the speed. Yes please! I don't seem to see any instructions though, do I just PM BJP? Link to comment
Fireball3
It basically speeds up the post read phase. As for instructions, it is used in the same way as the original script. There is only an additional option "-f" to enable the "faster" post read. Depending on the unRAID version you use (x86 or x64) you have to make sure to choose the right version of readvz. There comes a readme in the .zip. Link to comment
