jeffreywhunter
I'm interested in when (if) UnRaid 6 will have trim (ext4) support. Is there an official roadmap on this topic? Link to comment

As far as I am aware there has never been any plans to directly support ext4 filesystem. That said, my SSD is formatted as ext4 and I mount it via my "go" file with trim. I mount it to a folder "VMDISK" and store / run most of my VM's out of this. Link to comment
jeffreywhunter
How did you format the SSD as EXT4? Wouldn't that imply that Trim is active? Link to comment
archedraft
How did you format the SSD as EXT4? Wouldn't that imply that Trim is active? I followed the guide @jumperalex put together. In order to have trim active in linux you need to mount the disc with the discard flag. If you mount the drive without discard than trim is not on. Link to comment
