2x OEM 1.5TB Samsung 5400RPM drives --- $160

Featured Replies

I was really trying to stay away from this deal but $80 for a new 1.5TB is too good to pass up.  Can anyone convince me not to jump on this as even my past experiences with Samsung drives and their goofy RMA service is not enough to keep me from jumping on this deal? Add the combo to your cart to get the $160 price.

Newegg now seems to show a price of $199.98 for the two-drive combo.  Not as good as $80, but still not too bad.

(119.99 each with a $40. combo discount)

I saw the same thing as Joe. But then I added the combo to my cart & it gave me a $40.00 combo discount & a $40.00 sale discount. Final price in the cart is 159.98

I might have to jump on this.. I just now added the drives to my cart..  ::)

someone PLEASE talk me out of this!  Seems like too good of a deal!!!

dead now..  price is back to $200 for 2 1.5 TB drives... still not bad but not nearly has hot as $160

Wow!  They fixed that pretty quickly!  I didn't get the $160 so I'm actually happy... I saved myself $160 :D

Same here... I really wanted to pull the trigger but the accountant in me was able to procrastinate until the deal was dead (or at least not as hot).

For the few people who may have gotten in on it this was certainly a hot deal.

I just tried to check out & they took one of the $40.00 discounts off.

It was in my shopping cart for 159.98 but when I went to pay it went up to 199.99.

That sounds kind of sneaky... Wouldn't expect that from them...  :'(

The question is... will they ship!? I know dell is notorious for offering great deals and then cancelling/offering people more down to earth deals. Newegg on the other hand rarely does mess ups... so will they cancel the few orders that got in or let it slide?

It's pretty obvious it was a price mistake because that end game price was unheard of lol. Almost $0.05/GB.

Considering they caught the error within 30minutes to an hour of the error becoming widely known, I think they'd ship any orders they received.  From a business perspective, it would be cheaper to take the hit on margin than the unknown loss of goodwill and future sales caused by customers saying they were jobbed.  Besides, while the price was definitely low is was not theoretically impossible to achieve.

WHY couldn't I have seen this earlier, I'd have jumped on that in a heartbeat, specially if they actually shipped them, lol.

I just grabbed a couple of these at the $199.99 price...still not bad, in my opinion (especially if you're in need of some space now).  Combo deal at Newegg ends today though!
