Using a free license for preclear machine

Featured Replies

Trying to determine if I've got a bad drive or not...

I spun up a spare mobo to preclear 4 new drives using a free copy of unraid 6, the unassigned devices plugin, and the preclear disks plugin. no need to start the array, i just don't have free sata ports on my production hardware. I know there's a 3 device limit with that license, but does it apply only to the array or any sort of functions?

I've got 3 devices trucking along at ~140MB/s in the pre-read, but the 4th is barely moving, if at all. trying to determine if it's bad hardware or just the free license limitation, without prematurely ending the other 3 pre-clears.

The limitation is for attached devices, but if it is working at all I think that must not be your problem. I think I remember something about you could attach more devices after it's started.

Probably a problem with that disk or its connection.
