2 folder w/o a name on cache drive

Featured Replies

Hi,

Ran into a strange problem this week... I recently upgraded to unRaid 6 from the latest 5 stable version, installed some dockers, didn't run into any problems there..

however, one of the folders on my cache-drive now has 2 folders without a name, opening the folders direct right back to the main folder i'm coming from (bit hard to explain, but it seems like some kind of looping-behaviour). I can actually only 'see' these two folders in a Windows-environment.

The main folder (/Downloads) show no folders or files in my mac (even if there are other files/folders present besides the two no-name folders).

In windows when I look at the properties of the folders I see 0 bytes, etc. So I thought 'well, just delete them'... but when I started to delete the folders the size of the (to be deleted) files increased rapidly so I cancelled, afraid to lose data from my server.

Included some screenshots to make it more clear... I can (seemingly) keep on entering the empty folders without any difference (except getting further on in the folder-tree)

Anyone knows how to solve this?

Its a folder (probably from one of your downloads) that has an illegal character (as far as windows is concerned) that's giving windows a heart attack.

Your easiest solution would be to login to your unRaid using putty, load midnight commander (mc) and then navigate to /mnt/cache

You'll probably see a couple of folders that have a rectangle in the name.  Rename them and everything should be good.
