takkkkkkk
my hard drives are reporting 40~45 celsius temperature, and although I am not too concerned of the temperature, I am concerned that my pwm capable system fans are not increasing the fan speed (system temperature isn't increasing, so I'm assuming bios thinks it's fine...). Is there any plugin that allows me to control system fans based on Hard Drive temperature? Would love to investigate... Quote Link to comment

takkkkkkk
Yes, dynamix.system.autofan https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=36543.0 Thanks, I've been trying to use it, but I couldn't get it to work, and wasn't sure if that's what it was supposed to do. I'll give it another try! Quote Link to comment
m3ki
What is the issue you're facing? Quote Link to comment
takkkkkkk
I just couldn't get any PWM controller to load. I have MSI Z87-G45 motherboard which should be capable of adjusting system fans and Norctua pwm fans connected to a splitter http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812311002&_ga=1.268058315.411726453.1451509940. mr-hexen
Have you checked the Fan Settings in the BIOS? Might be set to silent mode. Quote Link to comment
takkkkkkk
I think I found the issue my mobo sysfan, although they have 4pins,I don't think they support the PWMs. is there anything I can do? I don't want to use CPUFANS as I didn't want the fans to be associated to CPU use. Is there some sort of usb pwm adapter I could use to adjust my fan speed? 1 Quote Link to comment
m3ki
You can run pwmconfig as described here to see what controller controls which fans https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fan_speed_control When I was setting up my server I had to do it.
