  1. I was wondering... This plugin wont warn me against things like ransomware/cryptolocker will it? especially if "Automatically protect new and modified files" is enabled?
  2. You just did that by raising the levels. Any way of setting a warning level, say if a disk's usage drops by over 5% or 10%? Say typically, when some process is running rampant and is deleting files. Interesting idea, you probably wouldn't have enough time to stop the rampant deleting but at least you would know very quickly to figure out what happened and then go get your backups and put the files needed back. Lol do you often have rampant processes deleting files? Personally I would be concerned if something was mass encrypting my shares ex. Crypto locker...
  3. You can run pwmconfig as described here to see what controller controls which fans https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fan_speed_control When I was setting up my server I had to do it. You can start reading here http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=43100.msg416834#msg416834
  4. 1. Is is a brand new install? 2. is this your first share? 3. Can you create a share with another name? 4. Can you try in another browser? (maybe even incognito mode, in case it's as browser plugin issue)
  5. Check the following: 1. Is your CPU overheating? 2. Is there a chance that your mobo got fried because of some power surge/power outage?( Check if any capacitors on the mobo are leaking)
  6. Yes, dynamix.system.autofan https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=36543.0
  7. Lol I've been just sneakily (without wife knowing) upgrading my unraid to the teeth mostly with ram and hdds hoping 6.2 winter is coming...
  8. @jonp Let me preface this by saying I have been a very happy/paid user of unraid for the past 3 months. And I do understand that there are no guarantees to deadlines and anything can happen during development. Are you able to comment as to if there is a chance 6.2 will be released in the next: 1. 3 months 2. 6 months 3. 1 year Are there many substantial issues you are facing bugs etc..? Can we help with testing/feedback etc?
  9. You haven't been here long have you.... SoonTM Sigh... I have been getting ideas by reading lot's of posts... but yes I haven't been here long I did get a reply from johnp two months ago about getting a beta version, I am still waiting, for it. I do understand that development takes time (I am a dev myself). I was just really hoping for some sort of idea as to when we can possibly get next version/ what will be in it etc.... If someone said "hey this and this is not stable, we still need to get this done before we can release such and such" that would be understandable. I really like how syncthing people do it, they have a public roadmap, with list of features outlined with current statuses, and people can see what is left to do.
  10. This is incorrect. We thought we may have to require all disks spinning with dual parity, but that isn't the case. This is really cool! Please keep us in the loop
  11. ?? 6.1 allows 25 devices. Why are you screwed if you only have 14 right now? I guess I was wrong, anyway I have a 24 bay Box which I intend to fill. All my cache drive are internal. I want to allocate all bays to the array. Which leaves me with 21 available instead of 24 at the moment. 25 - 1 - 2(cache) - 1 potential second parity. I guess for now I can fill it to 21 drives for now. Also with this many drives it is better to have second parity drive.
  12. I meant more of hey dual parity is coming/planned this summer or next year. Simply saying "when it's ready" is very ambiguous. I'm already at 12drives + 2cache and soon I won't be able to add more hdds to my array(apparently 6.2 array limit is lifted) So I'm hoping 6.2 will come soon. Otherwise I'm screwed
  13. I will be very pleasantly surprised if it is out of public beta by summer, considering it has not even been released to public beta yet. Limetech says it will be in public beta "soon", but they don't give dates, and it's been "soon" for a month. There are a lot of hinted goodies added in 6.2, so I doubt the beta process will be super short. I wish lime tech was a bit more transparent about planned release dates and features.
  14. I have been browsing around on my array and just was surprised to see many folders still remaining on my cache drive when I realised why. It seems that there were files left inside those folders. Many of the projects I have contain symlinks to files inside of same folders. It seems that the mover process moves and recreates symlinks from cache -> array; but then it doesn't delete symlinks on the cache drive. Is this normal?
  15. Thank you! It took me a while to realize where the settings for menu/CA were.
  16. I am not 100% sure if this is the right thread to post but the latest update to "Community Applications" plugin breaks the unraid ui menu bar.
  17. I have the same question. Anyone can help?
  18. I have one syncthing instance that syncs multiple user folders so running as one or the other wont work. For now I think I solved it by doing "ignore permissions" checkbox and unraid does default umask(though it's kind of dumb that it's 777 . Since only root has access to ssh, I guess it's ok.
  19. pm sent Hi m3ki, In the two lines above, it seems the app was restarted or did you do it manually ? The other thing was that you had disk1 deselected as target, but the log file showed it as elegible, not sure if the screenshot was out of sync with the log. Can you run the process from scratch and send me the log (pm me if you want) ?
  20. if your board have IPMI, there is no need for CPU with video.. That's good to know! I think you do need it to use intel AMT.
  21. If i am not mistaken you still need for cpu to support onboard video. I could be wrong, I thought I read that somewhere.
  22. So regardless if I go with Supermicro or an ASRock board, I have to flash the on-board SAS/SATA controller to IT mode? Hmm... onboard one on SM I had to flash yes, because by default it came in IR mode (raid) it's very simple to do anyway. SM has a file on their website and instructions are inside. it's almost identical to steps for flashing m1015. It's actually easier because there is only one script to run. You boot from UEFI bios using IPMI remote desktop, run script, enter your controller address (there is a sticker on the mobo) and boom you're done. I'm not sure, I don't have that much experience in choosing a motherboard. I basically went on Newegg and found the motherboard with the highest number of onboard SAS/SATA ports (to delay buying a HBA controller) and that supported ECC ram and a Xeon E5-1650 v3. Do you think there is a better option for me? I'm hoping to future proof myself as much as possible. I see, I think you're better off looking on supermicro site, since they have all the specs, then once you find your model you go and look on something like PCpartspicker to find cheapert place. Also is this computer going to be used ONLY as nas? in that case there may not be a need to get Xeon E5... What do you mean by futureproof? I don't think you need to stuff the empty bays with styrofoam, there is a vent you can close. Watch this short video: Sweet! ... damn it I just looked mine dont have closable vents!
