trueimage
Just wondering which ones are confirmed to be working. Also, if you have an AMD or Intel system, let me know. Quote Link to comment

dschur
I use 2 Promise Ultra 100 Tx2 for PATA (IDE) No problems, and I think you get them free with a supersize fries these days ;-) Quote Link to comment
BillK
Promise SATA300 TX4. That's the card I'm using along with four Seagate 500GB SATA drives. Works like a champ. Quote Link to comment
trueimage
I assume this "replacement" for the Ultra 100 TX2 would be good for PATA. The other listed is SATA and I don't want to use SATA drives for this, yet. http://www.promise.com/product/product_detail_eng.asp?segment=Non-RAID%20HBAs&product_id=87 Ultra 133 TX2 Tom: you think this would allow me to use my AMD setup? lovingHDTV
I am using that card and have not had any issues with it. I setup my system ~1 year ago. Quote Link to comment
trueimage
is there any performance increase with an ATA/100 drive over the older card? 2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3750640A 750GB Ultra ATA/100 7200RPM Hard Drive w/16MB Buffer 1x Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 ST3400633A 400GB Ultra ATA/100 7200RPM Hard Drive w/16MB Buffer That's what I'm using... lovingHDTV
I believe that you have to have ATA/133 drives to see any gains. But this card works with ATA/100 drives as that is what I have. Quote Link to comment

Ulan
@trueimage I use the Promise Ultra 133 TX2 with my AMD setup since a couple of days. Overall i have 6 drives in my array (2 SATA and 4 PATA). No problems so far. That was the best way for me to use PATA drives with my Gigabyte-mobo and UNRAID. See here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=316.30 Best regards, Thorsten Quote Link to comment

gravymaker
Has anyone had any luck with the Silicon Image 0680A series PCI IDE controller? I can't seem to get unRaid to recognize it, although it is detected during boot and worked ok in Windows. If not, I'll drop the dime on a Promise card. Thx! **Update - popped in the promise card mentioned in this thread and everything is clicking along great. Quote Link to comment
WannaTheater
Gravymaker, Which motherboard do you have? Quote Link to comment
WannaTheater
Also, did you go with SATA or IDE? Quote Link to comment
gravymaker
Also, did you go with SATA or IDE? I have an ABIT KV7, bios patched up to the latest on the ABIT site. (v20 I think?) I'm using one Promise SATA and one Promise IDE. What is really strange, is that when I try to use the onboard IDE's and SATA's performance drops to the floor. I could never get my cheap STLab PCI IDE to be recognized within unRAID. Currently, I am avoiding using the onboard IDE and SATA ports. If anyone has any ideas as to why performance is terrible using the onboard IDE ports, PLEASE let me know! I'd love to be able to include them in the array. Quote Link to comment
gravymaker
Just to close the loop - my cheap PCI IDE card (ST-Labs) works now under unRaid 4.0 b6! thanks! Quote Link to comment
