richardb
Hey all, I am looking to pass a hard drive directly through to a HD: it is a separate physical drive, not on an array. I know this is possible, but I can't find a how-to on this, and they don't appear in the pass-through list when creating a VM. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Link to comment
ashman70
You would probably have to figure out which controller its attached to, and if possible pass through the specific port on the controller to your VM. I imagine this would be done in the XML, although not 100% I am new to virtual machines on UnRaid myself. Link to comment

When adding or editing a VM, instead of paying to /mnt/user/someshare/somevm, you can path to /dev/disk/by-id/yourdiskhere. Link to comment

Ah, that makes more sense. Do I have to do that in the XML, or can I put that path into the vdisk location? Link to comment
