February 4, 201610 yr I got some used drives that I want to pre clear to make sure that they are good enough. However I am not using my production server to pre clear. Do i need to download a trial key so i can run pre clear. downloaded the latest stable version.
February 4, 201610 yr I don't think so, since you aren't going to start the array. I could be wrong though, I haven't actually tried.
February 4, 201610 yr With the old preclear script I don't think it wouldn't have been necessary, you'd just telnet into the server after boot and run the script. I'm not sure about the new preclear plugin, though.
February 8, 201610 yr You can run the preclear script just fine without a license. unRAID doesn't care what you do with your drives until you add them to your array or cache pool, at which point your license limits kick in.
