Good morning!

 

I have a Little Problem. My 3 month old parity drive ( 4 TB WD RE) is showing reallocated sectors and I would like to rma it.

 

I only have 2 TB drives in my Array. So the paritiy drive is too big. Can I Change it to a 2 TB drive instead of waiting for the new drive beeing returned?

 

Sounds possible, but I am not too sure. Any tipps would be highly appreciated. I do not like the thought of an unprotected Array.

    Yes, you'll have to do a new parity sync.

    if thats all, no Problem. My worries was just about the diffrent size.

     

    So I will Change the HDD tonight.
