[Still doing it :(] What would cause the webgui to randomly be inaccessible?

If that were the case I don't see why it would cause problems for only a single device on the network. Nothing else has changed on the network other than adding a new PC i built. The box unRAID is running in was my old main PC. All that changed there was the HDDs and the OS. It worked fine (with the same router/ip reservation) for 2 years until the day i booted unRAID on it. The router is set to give it's mac address one ip.

I agree that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense but it's a painless thing to try and who knows?

I wonder if the Unraid box has already been set with a static IP address, but one that is in the range of IP addresses that the router dynamically allocates.

When you then connect another device to the network which now gets dynamically allocated the same IP address chaos will ensue.

unRAID box has been set with a static IP address via the routers DHCP reservation (same one the PC has had for 2 years before it was an unRAID box), it is one that is in the range of IP addresses that the router dynamically allocates.

Hmm, possible i guess. Don't see the point in a router reserving an ip for one mac and then giving it out to others lol. All my other non DHCP reserved devices almost always get the same IP, and i have never had problems before, but i will adjust my settings and see what happens.

EDIT: Set the router to give it an ip outside of the range of IP addresses that the router dynamically allocates... no change. I will try setting it as static via unRAID options in the AM.

EDIT: Can't sleep.. set to static in unraid settings. No change. fml

Narrowed it down a bit.. any time any device connects to my network, like my laptop VIA wifi, that's when this starts. unRAID will work fine all day and then something with connect and it will go up, down, up, down, up, down..... every few seconds for HOURS!!. Nothing else on the network is affected in any way. It is unbelievably frustrating :(

Any ideas?

This really sounds like a networking conflict. Like two devices having the same IP or MAC address.

I see it is already suggested to set a fixed address on your unRAID system, you can bring that a step further and assign a complete NEW address to your system and see if that changes/improves anything.

To get a better understanding you may want to disconnect other PCs or systems temporarily to get a stable situation.

Thanks. I will mess around with it today. I don't really wan to as it is working ATM and when i do it might not for 4 or 5 hours :(

Hi,

I can't get it fixed. The GUI is still really slow (every click about 15-20 Sec.) :-\. Everything else works fine. I have attached a diagnostic file. Maybe someone is able to find something. Similar to superderpbro I have many drops on the bonding device (See post #7). That could't be o.k.? Thanks!!!!

This may have fixed it for me .. time will tell. But i have disconnected/reconnected a few things and the server is still up.. for now hahaha

I recommend to set your DHCP lease time longer, e.g. 1 day or 1 week. There isn't really a need to renew every 30 minutes unless you are hosting some public service.

I was waiting for somebody to say that  8) 8)

Normally it is way longer. That was just a left over setting from when i was messing around with all of them yesterday. I changed it right after i saw it in the pic i posted.

Was rock solid for a couple days. Power on the laptop.. up, down, up, down, up, down for a few hours.. *sigh*

Perhaps try a different router?

Maybe but then id have to have my ISP set my router/modem to bridge mode and use my old shitty router (or buy an new one).. Seems silly to have to change your network gear because you changed the OS on one of your computers. I have never had a single networking problem (other than typical wifi stuff) until the day unRAID was installed. The PC it was installed on has run with the current router for over a year without a single issue.. Also, nothing else on the network is effected. Is there anything wrong in these settings?

It used to be in bond mode (that's how it was set by default) but i changed it a while back in an attempt to solve this.

Settings are fine. Bond mode is only needed/effective when more than one interface is participating. Don't see anything wrong on the server.

Have you tried switching ports on the router, connect the unRAID server to another ethernet port?

I hadn't at the time.. but i switched today. I just got in bed to watch some Rick and Morty on the laptop VIA Plex before snooze time.. open the laptop. Guess what im not able to watch for more the 25 seconds at a time? hehe :(

Edit: I don't see how this would make a difference but in the interest of giving the most information about 'my' network.. this laptop spends a lot of time on another network. My data cap is 300GB a month and i have a neighbor who barely uses her 300 a month. She only checks email and does some light browsing. I give her $15 towards her bill and can connect to her wifi when i want.. So when i come back to this network (or the laptop has been off and i turn it on) for some reason it totally frigs up unRAID. No device can reliably connect to it for hours after that. But all of them can connect to each other just fine. It only effects the unRAID box.. I see no difference than if i had taken this laptop to a coffee shop.. I just dont get it :(

It didn't happen for quite some time so i went ahead and bought the software. Everything was fine for a few days. Today i went from 6.2 to 6.2.2. I rebooted the server a few times to get there.. and its now been going up and down every few seconds for about 5 hours :/
