[6.2.1] Cannot extract diagnostics zip file in Wndows 10

Featured Replies

Description: When trying to extract the files from the diagnostics zip file, Windows displays an error and does not extract files.

How to reproduce: In Windows 10, right click on the diagnostics file and select 'extract'.

Expected results: Files in the zip file would extract properly.

Actual results: Windows 10 displays an error and fails to extract files.

Other information: It makes it hard to help diagnose problems when the files in the diagnostics can't be extracted.

Can not replicate your issue, it works for me... (windows 10 + unRAID 6.2.1)

Note: it works when opening the file, but right-clicking and extract gives an error message.

Yes.  That's the issue.  You can browse it, but cannot right click and extract without the error message.  Would be nice to extract all the files from the zip.

If you don't mind installing extra software, 7zip can handle it

This is a bug we can avoid.  In the zip file under 'smart' directory we create text files named after each of the devices.  For USB attached devices there is a colon in the file name.  Win10 does not like colons in file names.  That is the issue.  We'll figure out the right way to solve this.
