October 19, 20169 yr After my docker apps stopped responding along with GUI I did a hard reset and the drives have been unable to be mounted since. I have tried several times including waiting for about an hour for them to mount with no luck. I have already removed plugins and disabled docker so I don't know what else the hold up could be. Thanks. syslog.txt
October 19, 20169 yr Hello, sorry to hear about your issue. This has happened to me once before with my old server. Below is what I did to fix it. **Note** YMMV execute at your own risk. I am not responsible for errors in execution nor any "shortcuts" one so chooses. What I did to fix this was the following. Actually very easy in my case. I base this on unRaid version 6.2.1 This assumes the system Gui is not locked trying to mount disks, It also assumes a clean reboot with drives unmounted. No red balls, yellow balls et et. All balls green just wont start array in either maintenance mode or normal. This also assumes no other "hardware raid" configurations with your systems hardware or otherwise. Just a clean boot up into unraid. 1. On the "Main" tab in the GUI take a screen-shot of your current config. Include the "devices list" as well as "cache list" if any. I use the windows snipping tool for this. Save the picture on your PC's desktop. 2. Back in the Unraid GUI go to the "Tools" tab and click the "new config" button(option) 3. You will be met with the following ...a check box (yes i want to do this) ...a drop down menu (retain current configuration) ... apply and done button 4. Under the drop down menu change from none to all 5. Put a check in the yes I want to do this box 6. Hit apply Unraid will now reset your config. Verify the drives are in the correct order / slots. Based on your sys log the following. I always use the 3 letters and serial number matched with the GUI disk number from my screen shot. I made the letters bold the serial follows. Match the letters and serial with your screenshot disk numbers, 3 letters and serials from before. sdb 2930266532 0 WDC_WD30EFRX-68EUZN0_WD-WMC4N0M0D97F sdc 2930266532 0 WDC_WD30EFRX-68EUZN0_WD-WCC4N5NZVTU0 sde 625131832 0 WDC_WD6400AAKS-65Z7B0_WD-WCASYF152965 sdd 2930266532 0 WDC_WD30EFRX-68EUZN0_WD-WCC4N2REKA90 If you have more or less than four disks something is wrong. I pulled the above from your syslog. 3x3TB Red and one 640GB Blue, and a sandisk cruzer?? Once all matched up try starting the array. I usually start in maint. mode. If ok then I start in normal mode. Worked for me with 24 drives, I did have to "fix a few slots but all was good. I make sure to run a parity check and sync after. If you don't have or not using a parity drive. I don't know what to tell ya.. hope all data is ok. Good luck...
October 19, 20169 yr Author Attempting it now, still seems to be stuck on mounting disks. The Cruzer is crappy but it is what I had on hand.
October 19, 20169 yr You're basically going to have to post the diagnostics while its stuck trying to mount the disks. diagnostics so that the info on the file systems appears (and any errors present)

From the local keyboard / monitor (or ssh in via Putty) and type in that command.
October 19, 20169 yr Yeah, my walk through "also assumes" the system does not auto mount the array. Stuck gui makes for difficult navigation. Side note - Squid thanks for the F.C.P. plugin. Incredible Cheers Mate!!
October 19, 20169 yr Author It looks like disk 3 isn't mounting because it's missing a file system. That is a disk that I replaced a smaller drive with. Just attempted to start the Array with that disk removed and it fired right up, what should my next move be? Pretty sure I am going to lose some data but everything important is backed up elsewhere, so annoying but not a real issue. syslog.txt
October 19, 20169 yr I'd just install the "pulled" disk as a new one especially if you have back ups. Just copy over any data after a few "clearing passes" on the drive to make sure the drive is OK. Also check your sata cables on the MB and HD make sure they are seated correctly. Cheers ...
October 19, 20169 yr Author Seems like the best route. I assume a parity will salvage a lot of the drive contents? I am running that before the reformat.
October 19, 20169 yr It will re-create whatever is on the disk good or bad bit for bit. One can always have a bad file copied to the array, parity wont fix that of course. If your data was good before should be good after the check. I had a few sync errors that were corrected but my original data was clean. Check the drive make sure its still good. Clear that thing a few times.

October 20, 20169 yr Author I ended up formating the disk so I lost some data but it's working again so I am happy.
