November 1, 20169 yr On my monster 105TB server, which has 27 drives plus two parity, I have one 3TB drive in the array that has not been used yet for data storage and I can't figure out why. It's not a new drive, it was added to the array almost 5 months ago to replace a failed drive. It is the only WD Blue drive in my array. Perhaps there is nothing to worry about and the array will use it when it feels its necessary, I just find odd that after all this time is still hasn't been used.
November 1, 20169 yr Community Expert Check Global Share Settings to make sure it isn't excluded. If not, check each user share to make sure it's not excluded. If not, then from any user share page turn on help and read what it says about split level, allocation, minimum free, etc.
November 1, 20169 yr Author Thanks Trurl, the disk is not excluded from any of my shares, its not excluded in global share settings and it has 3TB of free space. My minimum free space setting is 20GB, so I don't know why any data hasn't been written to it. Odd.

Tools/Diagnostics would probably tell the tale.
November 2, 20169 yr Community Expert Disk25 still has >3TB free, since you're using high water unRAID will start using disk26 only when disk25 has ~2TB free.
