LCD Server Display LCDProc support

Featured Replies

Im using a Brontastor Server which has an LCD display and buttons which was originally designed for use with open-e (The display and buttons). Can we add support to use this with regards to temperatures, drive status, capacity used/free etc.

Thanks Guys

The display is a Crystalfontz 631 LCD, so Unraid would have to provide support for it.

There is a free linux based monitoring tool available here - http://lcdproc.org/

https://sourceforge.net/projects/lcdproc/files/lcdproc/0.5.6/lcdproc-0.5.6.tar.gz/download

in unraid allows you to add stuff to it, you could try to install lcdproc

I have the NMedia Pro-LCD -- 2 (rows) x 20 (characters).

I just finally unplugged the USB header and power as I could not figure out how to get it to work in unRAID.

I got it to work in a Ubuntu VM and Windows VM but that is not really useful.

No but I appreciate you trying to help. :)

It has been a number of years but you may want to try either running lcdproc in a privileged docker container

https://github.com/DE-IBH/lcdproc-docker

or failing that if you have an always running virtual machine then passthrough the lcd usb device and run it there though if there were any stats from the main host you want you would have to sort out how to scrape them and pass them in.

Hi,

Very nice.
Were you able to make progress on the subject?
I am looking for the possibility of putting a small monitor like this one without a parallel port.
