January 28, 20179 yr Author So after a 49hr parity sync/check I am back in business with no errors or issues. Looks like that SAS2LP card was the problem in terms of some incompatibility with the backplane of my server. Glad I was able to find an H310 local, quick and cheap. I also put it in a different PCIe slot than the SAS2LP card was in, still an 8x slot just not the same one, doubt it made any difference. I'm guessing the fact I did a parity sync/check rather than just a parity check is the reason it took 49hrs? Usually a check takes 37hrs.
January 28, 20179 yr Community Expert Then reason for the low parity check speed is mostly the CPU but changing the tunables below from the default to these values should improve it a little. Settings -> Disk Settings: md_num_stripes="4096" md_sync_window="2048" md_sync_thresh="2000" A little improvement in your case can result in a few hours difference.
