Popple2000
Hey guys, just a quick question.. If I transfer a file directly to a disk in the array instead of to the cache through the share... Is it still parity protected? example: xfering a 70gig .mkv directly to "disk 7" because there is only 60gb free on the cache drive Thanks in advance! Link to comment
BRiT
Yes, transfers directly to /mnt/disk# means it is parity protected if you have a parity drive (s) assigned. If you tranafer to /mnt/cache/ or /mnt/user/share and the share is set to use cache, then it is only parity protected while on the cache drive if you have a BTRFS Cache Pool with more than 1 drive, otherwise it wont be parity protected until it is moved from cache to the array disk when mover kicks off.
