Western Digital Red Pro 6TB

I finished upgrading my rig to these drives and I am very satisfied with their performance. They do tend to run a little hot so takes steps to mitigate. Moving my rig to my cooler garage was mine.

Some of the drives have what I call the "Seagate Drop" which impacts the start of every Seagate drive I've tested but none of these "drops" seem to go past the 25GB mark on any model.

Cool, more than the start speed I'm impressed by the fact that they only drop below 150MB/s for the last 20% or so.

what program is this?

Nice, I've liked those drives for some time. I've also thought about putting my server in the garage which is indeed cool this time of year, but it gets stinking hot in the summer, won't your garage get hot too? Does this not concern you?

See my signature for a script I wrote to benchmark drives - helps to identify ones that may be going bad.

I live just north of Seattle, WA. Garage stays cool year 'round. :)

After saturating the ram cache, I'm getting 70MB/s+ write speeds with parity read/modify/write settings at the 1 TB fill mark (no cache) !! :o
