June 19, 20179 yr Just trying rc4 and was not able to boot. I guess my bios (current Krait bios for my machine) didn't like UEFI. Re-configuring my bios to ignore UEFI allowed the boot to complete. Here's what I see in the console output during a failed boot: Loading /bzimage ... ok Loading /bzroot ...ok Loading /bzroot-gui...ok Failed to exit boot services: 0x8000000000000002 Booting kernel failed: Bad file number Otherwise, 6.4 seems to be working fine. A small suggestion. Change "DYNAMIX COLOR THEME" as the word "color" is not descriptive enough given the entire look and feel of the GUI can be changed.

I can see the UEFI directory and contents have been installed on my flash drive. I can revert to 6.3.5, change my bios settings back, and try again in a couple days.

This is an issue with your BIOS, maybe check for update, or just leave it at Legacy boot mode. Once OS is running, shouldn't make any difference.
