New Server Setup: Can't view/access shares?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've setup a second UnRAID server so that I can separate my files and media. But I have a problem.

I've created a couple of 'Shares' but I can't view any of them from my Windows 10 machine. I have manually copied the settings from the current share I have for my files but I still can't access it!

What do you suggest? What diagnostics do I need to run/upload?

Thank you for your help :)

Are you saying that you cannot see the shares from Windows or you cannot see them from the unRAID GUI.    If it is the latter then make sure that the unRAID server is white-listed in any ad-blocker you might be running.

If it is not the above, can you perhaps provide screen shots of the Settings->Global Shares page and the page for the settings for a particular share causing problems.

No - that was me making an error because I misread one of your screen shots.    Unfortunately there is not an option to delete a post once you have done that.

Do you see the flash share?  Do you see Prometheus?

No one knows how to fix this?

It seems like a strange bug...

Grasping at straws...

Do you statically assign IPs to your servers, or use DHCP?  Are you able to telnet into the servers by name, or do you need to use IPs?

Is windows network sharing enabled on the host where from you try to connect
Can you ping the tower? by dns/ip?

Everything on my network has a static IP.

I can putty into both servers. I always use their IP address.

Yes. I can access my other devices and my shares on my other server.
