Just ordered my new hardware but unsure if this will work.

Unraid setup and running (dam, I love Unraid) .. VM1 Windows 10 with gfx card, keyboard passed through to VM1...

Can I put the VM1 on my NVME which is set as unassigned device?.

I don't want the VM1 on my cache if possible as the NVME has the speed and I want it as my main OS.

Thanks in advance

I don't have any direct experience with NVME's but it should work.

The nice thing of the cache is you can set it up as a raid pool, thereby increasing the performance of the total pool as compared to a single disk.

I have a cache pool of 4 SSDs in raid10 configuration. This cache pool services my VMs, Docker containers and occasionally acts as cache to the array. It runs extremely smooth :)

Yes, it works with the unassigned devices plugin.

I have decided to go with a larger nvme.. 500gb. The board I am getting has 2 nvme slots, so will get a second nvme in summer putting the 2 nvme in raid 0 and loose my existing 500gb cache.. Keeping the 2 nvme (1tb) exactly as your doing.
