    Seagate is STILL having firmware issues, even with 7200.12 drives.

     

    Just got a 7200.11 1.5tb drive from newegg last week, worked for about 3 hours then refused to spin.

    That sounds like it would be a "DOA" drive.

    The only Seagate drive I had issues with so far was a 1TB 7200 drive.

    I have 5 1.5TB drives and none of them have given me issues.

    Doesn't mean they are perfect. Just means I have not hit the same conditions as others.

    Every hard drive I bought in the last 6 years is Seagate.  1 failure.  All the rest still spinning.
