Mover doesn't move a file to allocated destination

Featured Replies

A share is set to include disks 4 and 5. Prior this a file has been uploaded to the share and is located in disk 2. For some reason the file is not moved by mover. Running via terminal, it doesn't complain about a thing. Is this something that is not implemented or is not functioning as expected?

Mover is only responsible for moving files between the cache and array disks.    It will never move files between array disks.   Any moves between array disks are always triggered as a manual process.

How is the manual process triggered?

Basically they're referring using something like cp, mv, Midnight commander (mc), rsync, or other utility/program via user invoked command to move/copy file from improper disk location to proper disk location. If there are multiple files you want to do this, you might find the unBALANCE plugin useful.

Example of move command using really fake names:

mv /mnt/disk2/SomeShareName/DIR/filename /mnt/disk4/SomeShareName/DIR/filename
