BRiT Posted June 2, 2018 Share Posted June 2, 2018 The exact same way you would if it was an internal drive. Make sure you have a fan blowing air over the enclosure when you're testing it that way. Link to comment

I'd prefer not to use my unRAID server as it only has USB 2.0, and even generously assuming a 30 MB/s R/W speed it's going to take more than 3 days for a single pass with an 8 TB hard drive.
