ikilby
My server is running altough dockers like Plex is offline. My VM PFsense is also working. If i go to the main page, i cannot take the array offline as there is a message - Disabled -- BTRFS operation is running I even tried the reboot button to no avail. I left it overnight to finish what it thinks its doing - but there is no disk activity light. Apart from hitting the manual power button i dont know what to do Looking at the sys log - has the kernel crashed? Help please. Server has been running for 3 years and never had an issue. syslog.txt Edited August 18, 2018 by ikilby spelling Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
There was a crash, but strange that would cause a btrfs operation running, especially since you don't even have a pool, try typing reboot on the console. Quote Link to comment
ikilby
Thanks tried that as well as a Sudo shutdown -r now. The system does not reboot. Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
But there's other issues since a console reboot would work even if a btrfs operation was ongoing, you'll likely need to force it. Quote Link to comment

ikilby
looks like BTRFS is not running. Anyway of checking processes to see if a process has hung or is taking CPU process Quote Link to comment
ikilby
OK I manually rebooted. Server is back and now running a parity check. Very weird - is this likely a bug or an issue with my hardware? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Difficult to say, most likely related to the kernel oops that happened, no idea if that was hardware or software though. ikilby
Thanks. Well see how it goes. Never happened before but it has only last week had a separate LSI sata card added and several drives added. Will monitor and post again if it crashed. Thanks for your help. Appreciate it.
