Multiple registration keys found?

Featured Replies

Hello
I just did an upgrade of my server from basic to plus and just got an error message from Fix Common Problems,

Multiple registration keys found :
While unRaid will operate with multiple .key (registration files) within the config folder on the flash drive (ie: For simplicity sake you have multiple valid registrations and are storing them all within the config folder, you will run into problems if you ever need to transfer one of the registrations to another USB stick, as unRaid will not know which registration file to transfer, and the incorrect registration may get blacklisted. You should investigate and determine which key belongs to which USB stick and only have that particular key on that stick.

Is there something I care about today or can I have it as long as I do not want to change USB memory?

Although it does not cause a problem in normal running there is no benefit to having redundant keys on the USB drive as there will be only one that is valid for that specific USB drive.   As the message indicates you could have issues if the USB drive ever needs replacing and you make a mistake about the key file you want migrated to the new USB drive.

ok, how do i solve the problem best?

First thing is that if you don't have multiple purchased keys, then this is probably because you went from a Trial key to a purchased key, and your install of FCP is out of date.  Update the plugin and then see if the issue still exists.

Since you upgraded from Basic to Plus, both keys are present. That's because the upgrade process does not remove the old key.

The safest thing is to remove the Basic.key (and Trial.key, if also present) file from the config folder on your boot flash device, leaving the Plus.key file in place.

Ok i will try that.

I have the same thing going on with my server right now. I upgraded from plus to pro about a week ago. I assume that means I just have to delete the Plus.key. But I was wondering if there is any benefit to migrating it to another USB for use in another server, or if it blacklisted now? Not sure if there would be a "reactivation fee", or if it is completely dead.

Yes.

No, it could only be used with the current flash drive, instead of the Pro, so not much point.
