Shlazor
Although I am new to unRAID and VMs, I have a big machine with a brand new Intel Coffee Lake processor and 32 GB RAM. I built a Windows 10 Pro VM with a USB 3 card passed thru and an EVGA 1070 passed thru. Almost everything is working fine. The Logitech Unifying Receiver for my wireless mouse and keyboard is plugged into the 4 Port USB 3 card that is passed thru. Plug and play is working just fine on the card. I plug in a flash drive and it is instantly recognized. My bluetooth dongle works perfectly as do a wired keyboard and mouse. The Logitech Unifying Receiver was recognized and installed fine. I installed the Logitech Unifying Software and the mouse and keyboard (both Logitech) paired no problem at all. However, they run so slowly and laggy that they are useless. Did I miss a step somewhere? Below are my IOMMU Groups: (It is 13 that is passed thru) PCI Devices and IOMMU Groups IOMMU group 0:[8086:3ec2] 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 8th Gen Core Processor Host Bridge/DRAM Registers (rev 07) IOMMU group 1:[8086:1901] 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v5/E3-1500 v5/6th Gen Core Processor PCIe Controller (x16) (rev 07) [10de:1b81] 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP104 [GeForce GTX 1070] (rev a1) [10de:10f0] 01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation GP104 High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1) IOMMU group 2:[8086:3e92] 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation UHD Graphics 630 (Desktop) IOMMU group 3:[8086:a2af] 00:14.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 200 Series/Z370 Chipset Family USB 3.0 xHCI Controller IOMMU group 4:[8086:a2ba] 00:16.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation 200 Series PCH CSME HECI #1 IOMMU group 5:[8086:a282] 00:17.0 SATA controller: Intel Corporation 200 Series PCH SATA controller [AHCI mode] IOMMU group 6:[8086:a2e7] 00:1b.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 200 Series PCH PCI Express Root Port #17 (rev f0) IOMMU group 7:[8086:a290] 00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 200 Series PCH PCI Express Root Port #1 (rev f0) IOMMU group 8:[8086:a292] 00:1c.2 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 200 Series PCH PCI Express Root Port #3 (rev f0) IOMMU group 9:[8086:a294] 00:1c.4 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 200 Series PCH PCI Express Root Port #5 (rev f0) IOMMU group 10:[8086:a298] 00:1d.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 200 Series PCH PCI Express Root Port #9 (rev f0) IOMMU group 11:[8086:a2c9] 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation Z370 Chipset LPC/eSPI Controller [8086:a2a1] 00:1f.2 Memory controller: Intel Corporation 200 Series/Z370 Chipset Family Power Management Controller [8086:a2f0] 00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation 200 Series PCH HD Audio [8086:a2a3] 00:1f.4 SMBus: Intel Corporation 200 Series/Z370 Chipset Family SMBus Controller IOMMU group 12:[8086:15b8] 00:1f.6 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection (2) I219-V IOMMU group 13:[1b73:1100] 04:00.0 USB controller: Fresco Logic FL1100 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 10) IOMMU group 14:[1b21:2142] 05:00.0 USB controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. Vr2Io
Those are USB 3 interference 2.4G issue. You can minimize the problem by a extend cable with RF chock. Edited December 14, 2018 by Benson Quote Link to comment
Shlazor
Thanks for the response! Do you think it is the Logitech Unifyer Receiver or the Bluetooth dongle? Quote Link to comment
Vr2Io
This is for Logitech Unifying receiver. Quote Link to comment
Shlazor
Thanks!!!! Ordered a cable with choke. Try that next. Quote Link to comment
Shlazor
That was it! How in the world did you know that. I have used Logitech Unifying Receivers for over 5 years with no problems whatsoever until this. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote Link to comment
Vr2Io
Because I suffer this problem too, I also use several yrs without problem. Believe or not I can't found any solution on internet, just think myself and try out for fix. Quote Link to comment
sempervirens
Could either of you point me towards a cable you're using? Somehow I'm not having any success finding one (only USB A to B, not USB A male to female), and I think I'm having the same issue as you. Quote Link to comment
Shlazor
I bought these and they instantly did the trick: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075G2P5SW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P0ES0QM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Please let us know if it works for you! positronicP
I used the basic usb extender that comes with some Logitech devices and it also worked. I coiled it so it only moved the USB receiver maybe three inches. It also doesn't have the choke. But for some unknown reason it does the job. Quote Link to comment
Vr2Io
Use extend cable make away from the port also can minimize the interference, but with RF chock would have lot better result. Quote Link to comment
Shlazor
The chokes are cheap. If Amazon delivers to your area, my links above get you the parts I bought and it worked perfectly. Quote Link to comment
sempervirens
I got a 3-meter extension plus some chokes, and it's working great! now on to the next problem Quote Link to comment
