[6.6.5] Is server-sided search indexing possible on Unraid?

Featured Replies

Is there a plugin/docker container that can provide search indexing similar to the "Windows Search Service" on windows servers?

I want to be able to type a search term into the explorer search bar and get the search results for 100k files in a few sec.

I recently set this up at work on a Windows 2016 server and there you can search through 500k files in under 10 sec.

I built my system about a month ago and it suits my needs perfectly, except for the painfully slow searching.

EDIT: It would also be OK if i had to use a third party app to do the actual searching. But i need something server-sided to create and update the database(index).

Since you're searching via windows, why not have windows index the shares also?

Yes but i don't want every client to index the files in a local database. I want something cetralized that preferably works with the regular windows search.

I have found a few old posts:

But nothing that integrates with Unraid or runs server-side.
