Start GUI from command

Featured Replies

i know you can boot directly to gui, but i like to leave the server booting on command line since i access the server from my laptop thru the web page.

however couple of time i need to go to the server itself when i dont have the laptop and i dont know a command to load the web gui form the terminal.

like example: startx

can anybody help please

Not possible AFAIK. The loading process to enable the local GUI includes different modules.

You can still access it the same way remotely even if the local GUI is available.

I too would like this ability. I don't suppose it's been implemented after all these years?

Yes, it's either / or boot mode.

Does anyone know if there is a list or an actual man page for all the commands like this?
